While this time has caused a great deal of suffering and hardship - especially for marginalized members of our community - it has also shown the strength and resiliency of communities across the country. In celebration of #GivingTuesday, this collaboration with Daily Bread is a way to give thanks to, and recognize, those on the front lines who are working tirelessly to ensure uninterrupted access to food to our neighbours in need.
Sonic Fold is collaborating with Records With My Daughters to raise $500 for Daily Bread Food Bank. This blend of funk, soul, disco, hip hop, R&B and beyond was produced to invite listeners to reflect on spreading love, having hope, sharing joy and connecting with your community.
The mix and fundraiser can be accessed above, and through Records With My Daughters' website.

COVID-19 Response
The ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our city in unprecedented ways. Now more than ever, we need the support of our community to ensure our neighbours in need can continue to access food during this time of crisis.
We are seeing escalating rates of food bank use, coupled by a diminished capacity to deliver food. One in three food banks in Toronto have shut down because they are run out of community spaces that have been mandated to close, or are run by seniors who are deemed high risk. We continue to see familiar faces among those in deep poverty who rely on food banks as a stable source of food. Prior to COVID-19, social assistance recipients made up over 60% of food bank use. These are individuals who simply cannot afford food on a regular day, let alone during a crisis.
